Honoring Deceased Parents In Wedding Program

HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

Those of you who have never heard of Halloween? It is a celebration deeply rooted in American culture and Anglo-Saxon in general, but for several years now, Italy has also received - in its own way - this precious opportunity to give free rein to the more macabre and funny fantasies . In some ways, we could assimilate to our Halloween Carnival, although definitely geared towards the most dark, supernatural reality. It is precisely for this reason that children and young people love this festival, which offers among other things an excellent opportunity to vent and make all the fears in play more or less conscious that bubble in the depths of the mind.
The term Halloween comes from the fact that October 31 is Halloween, the day on which the Christian tradition celebrating all the saints, collectively, without exception. This date, November 1, is called in English All Hallows' Day at this point it should be noted that among the ancient peoples (and also for the Jews of today) the day does not begin at midnight, but some hours before sunset.
is why, for example, attaches so much importance on the eve of Christmas: Dec. 24, in fact, is not only the day before, but it is seamless to the first part of Christmas itself.
Now, by analogy, Halloween is called All Hallow 'Eve (where "eve" stands for "Eve"), as well as All Hallows' Even (which is the concept of "Eve" by the "evening") it is easy to imagine how that definition has contracted Hallows' Even, and from there on Halloween it was a short step.
The origins of this festival date back to in which the British Isles were ruled by Celtic culture, before Europe fell under the dominion of Rome. The new year, then, beginning with November 1, when the work camps were completely closed, the crop was safe, and peasants could finally relax and enjoy the gifts that the gods had given them. On that date, therefore, all the pagan gods were remembered and mentioned by way of thanks and hope for the coming year, the doors of otherworldly dimensions were considered open for the night, and all the spirits were free to roam the earth and have fun with men.
The appearance of joyous celebration, however, did not displease the Church, which in a certain how seized the occasion to celebrate all the saints of Christianity here, then come our All Saints Day (which is not by chance, remember, immediately preceding the Day of the Dead, just to reiterate the inscendibile bond that connects the earthly dimension with the afterlife, be it the celestial sphere, or more generally the afterlife).
Since then, the old has become synonymous with Halloween night haunted, populated by all the evil spirits that the imagination could have imagined.
